Tri was created during an internship with Oce Technologies in the Netherlands. It is an alternative device used by individuals with various disabilties who require printing, copying and scanning documents.
The solution takes advantage of the universal numeric keypad, ridding the design of buttons with specific functions and allowing adaptation to different machines and software.
Research and testing were crucial to the first functioning prototype, which was fed commands from iTunes. The simple hardware solution allowed for easy refinements to the digital interface.
The print, copy and scan tasks are broken down into small chronological steps, containing three options per step and selected via the keypad.
Testing trial with visually impaired end user.
